After a heap of leaks, rumours and renders the latest Flagship from OnePlus was officially announced by the company today. The OnePlus 5 comes in 2 variants this time around, one with 6GB RAM, 64GB storage and the other with 8GB RAM, 128GB options. The OnePlus 5 will start at $479 and will available for pre-order today at OnePlus.net in the European region and for other markets it will be available from 27th of this month.

Coming to the specs of the device, it sports a 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 chipset GHz clocked at 2.45Ghz is coupled with Adreno 540 GPU. The device is packed with a 3300mAh battery with Dash Charge which charges up to 58% in just 30 minutes.

Coming to the camera department, OnePlus has Focused a lot on what matters this year! The rear houses a dual camera setup with one 20MP sensor and other with a 16MP sensor with and aperture of f/2.6 and f/1.7 respectively. The camera features include Fash AutoFocus, 1.6x optic zoom, Improved HDR, Portrait Mode, Pro Mode for more Professional options and you can capture RAW images. The front camera is a 16MP shooter with an aperture of f/2.0. The smartphone comes with a new Smart Capture Software for better image processing.

The fingerprint scanner is on the front, which the company claims that the device can be unlocked in 0.2 secs. Also, OnePlus 5 comes with Bluetooth 5.0 support. The 3.5mm headphone jack and Type C port are present at the bottom. Also, now OnePlus 5 will support 34 different network bands from all over the world. On the software part, the device is running on Android Nougat 7.1.1 with OxygenOS 4.5 with some minor upgrades like new reading mode and neat design of the OS.
