Xiaomi Mi A3

Xiaomi had previously rolled out a faulty update for the Mi A3 smartphone, which upon updating their devices to, users found their devices bricked with all their data being lost. The company on Monday has released a new statement offering a solution to the user’s problems.

For the past couple of days, social media sites such as Reddit and Twitter have been inundated with complaints from users regarding their Mi A3 device becoming dead or stuck in a boot loop after the Android 11 update. Some users who visited a Mi service centre with their devices were asked to pay amounts as high as Rs 12,000 for getting their devices fixed.

The company in a statement said “We are aware of the issue on some Mi A3 devices following a recent Android 11 update. We have since halted the rollout. We kindly request users who experience this issue to visit any of the 2,000 plus service centres across the country nearer to you wherein a solution will be provided for free unconditionally (within or beyond warranty).

We regret the inconvenience this has brought about. As a brand committed to offering the best possible user experience, we will continuously improve our products and services.”

This statement brought relief to the Mi A3 users, as to whether their devices were covered under warranty or not, the company will be fixing their devices without any additional charges.
