This week was one of the busiest week of the year there were a lot of events in India, lots of smartphones announced. Also, one the much-awaited game for android was announced this week. There were a couple of selfie-centric smartphones announced from OPPO and Gionee. So, let us get started with all the things that was buzzing around this week.
nubia Z1 mini S
nubia announced a mid-range smartphone with a 23-megapixel rear camera, Sony IMX318 sensor. The device is having a 5.2-inch screen with Corning Gorilla Glass protection, it is powered by Snapdragon 625 processor, It is coming with 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage with sd card support up to 200GB. It packs a 3000mAh battery and runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 with nubia UI 4. nubia Z1 mini S is available for INR 16,999 on Amazon in Moon Gold and Khaki Grey colors.
Gionee A1
This is one of the 2 selfie-centric smartphones that was announced this week, it comes with a 16MP shooter at the front, a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display, Helio P10 SoC with 4GB RAM, 64GB onboard storage, and a 4010mAh battery. There is a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, and flash and it runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. It is priced at INR 19,999 and is available from the 31st march in Gray, Black and Gold colors.
Oppo F3 Plus
Another selfie-centric smartphone announced this week from Oppo, comes with a dual selfie camera, one with 8MP and other with 16MP Wide Angle camera along with flash. It comes with a big 6-inch display with Full HD resolution, it is powered by Snapdragon 653 processor, houses 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It is packed with 4000mAh Battery with ChargerVOOC Flash Charge technology and is running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It is available for INR 30,999 starting 1st April on Amazon and Flipkart in Gold and Black colors.
OnePlus 3T Midnight Black VariantAfter announcing the limited Colette edition of Black OnePlus 3T last week OnePlus announced the Midnight Black Edition of the device. The Midnight Black of OnePlus 3T will come only in 128GB variant and will retail for INR 34,999 in India. The specs are same as found on OnePlus 3T. The limited edition will be sold on Amazon.in, oneplusstore.in and OnePlus Experience Store in Bangalore. The pre-order on Amazon.in has started on 23rd March. It will be available starting at 2:00 p.m. on March 31st both on Amazon.in and oneplusstore.in.
Micromax Spark VDEOMicromax launched a new budget device with support for 4G VoLTE, it comes with the price tag of INR 4,499. It has a 4.5-inch IPS display, a Quad-core Snapdragon SoC. It is coupled with a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera. The storage onboard is 8GB with 1GB of RAM. It is packed with a 1,800 mAh battery and is running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It comes with the Google Duo experience built-in and supports 12 regional languages.
Lava Z10 and Z25Lava entered the mid-range market in India with the announcement of INR 18,000 smartphone Z25 and a budget smartphone Z10 priced at INR 11,500. Both smartphones come with a 5.5-inch display, both come with HD display, Also, both devices sport 8MP front-facing camera with LED flash. Android O
Google announced the next version of Android called Android O. The preview version is now available for developers to download on Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel, Pixel XL and Pixel C devices. Google says that these are strictly development images and that they could be very buggy and unstable, and are not suitable for daily use. The new features in Android O include Background limits, Notification channels, Autofill APIs, Picture-in-picture video, Adaptive icons and much more tiny improvements.
Samsung Pay announced in India
Samsung announced its mobile payments service, Samsung Pay in India. It comes with the integration of Paytm as well as the government’s Unified Payments Interface(UPI) into the app. Samsung Pay comes with fingerprint authentication, it works with Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technology as well as with Near Field Communication (NFC). Samsung Pay is currently available on Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S7, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy A5 (2016), Galaxy A7 (2016), Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017). Samsung Pay will also be available on the Samsung Gear S3 Smartwatch shortly.
Super Mario Run
The much-awaited game from Nintendo was available for android users this week, Super Mario Run is an Auto-Runner game similar to what we have seen like Temple Run and Subway Surfers, Players can make Mario jump with a single tap, though there are surprisingly complex mechanics underneath the one-touch setup.
