Three years ago on this day, Uber was officially launched in India. With millions of journeys, and tens of thousands of economic opportunities created, Uber is touching and impacting lives while celebrating cities across India.

They started out to solve a simple problem – how do you get a ride at the tap of a button? And with the launch of uberPOOL across five cities in India, Uber started tackling an even greater challenge: reducing congestion and pollution in our cities by getting more people into fewer cars.

There  are some intesting stats given by Uber, here are those

  • 12,880,000Kms saved, almost 17 trips to moon and back
  • 605,000 liters of Fuel saved, that would over 60% of an Olympic swimming pool
  • 1,400,000 kgs of CO2 saved, it would take 1,325 acers of forest an entire year to remove that much CO2
