OnePlus Nord 2 confirmed to come with MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. This is also going to be the first time, where OnePlus would be using a MediaTek chip instead of the regular Snapdragon SoCs they use to use. Now we expect this to be happening as there are no other good chips by Qualcomm that OnePlus can use in their devices currently so they’re going the MediaTek way this time around.

There were a lot of rumours about OnePlus using a MediaTek SoC last time too, with the launch of the regular OnePlus Nord. This time around, it was the same case but OnePlus has eventually confirmed that they would use a MediaTek SoC in a press release. In it, they say that OnePlus has worked closely with the MediaTek team to provide enhanced AI based features which could be seen with in the OnePlus Nord 2.

While we still don’t have the exact launch date for the OnePlus Nord 2, we expect it to happen by the end of this month or either in August. It would be interesting to see OnePlus use a MediaTek SoC for the first time as in how they implement the chip and optimise it for the device with their OxygenOS. The device is expected to be priced at around 30k so it should compete directly with the Realme X7 Max and the Mi 11X.
