Nintendo Switch OLED Model announced

Nintendo Switch OLED Model announced, to go on sale from October. While we all were expecting a release of Nintendo Switch Pro with an improved Nvidia chip and more, Nintendo ended up making something else and instead of a Switch Pro, they have announced the launch of a new Switch model with a new OLED screen.

As for what’s new with this OLED model of the Switch, as said previously there are no changes to the insides which means that there would be no effect in the actual games so both the resolution and the frame rates would be the same as the regular Switch and Switch Lite. Although, this time, it gets a new and much better 7″ OLED screen which is a much better thing than the 6″ LCD screen. But the resolution is still the same 1280×720.

Next up, there is a new Wired Lan port on the Dock for a faster connection. This is something that was missing with the regular Switch Dock and most people were complaining about this too. Along with this, there are some changes made to the Joy-cons too and now they come with a braided cable.

Storage has also been upgraded and rather than the internal 32GB for games on both the regular and lite model, the new OLED one comes with a much-improved 64GB storage capacity. The Stand on this model is much wider when compared to the regular model and now it is actually usable. So, this means there is no need for third-party cases just to get a good Adjustable Stand.

Now comes the pricing, as there haven’t been many changes made to the internals Nintendo is charging 50$ (Rs. 3,720 approximately) more when compared to the regular model Switch. This means users would need to pay 350$ (Rs. 26,000 approximately) for the new Nintendo Switch OLED model. Just like the other Switch models, there is no news for the official sale in India, which means the only way to get this is by importing it to India or by third-party sellers.
