Here s a simple guide on how to fix any Xiaomi/Poco device

There is a bug with the launcher on Xiaomi/Poco device that causes the device to get stuck on the MIUI screen. There are a lot of Twitter users who has reported this issue and to fix this issue, there is a simple fix that a lot of people may not know about. So, here’s a simple guide on how to fix any Xiaomi/Poco device not booting.

This issue was firstly reported by @whizkidd on Twitter and according to him the Poco M2 has being stuck at the MIUI logo. The link for the tweet is mentioned below for a better overview-

 

Now, if you’re facing this issue too then there is just a simple fix for it. You would have to just follow the steps mentioned below and you would be able to get your device working again without going to the service centre. 

  • Make sure that your device turns on and is at the MIUI screen
  • Once it is there, make sure that there is an active sim inside the device 
  • If not, just insert an active sim inside of it and reboot the device
  • Make sure to give the device a call once it is in the MIUI screen and the device would be back

This was a very simple fix and being caused by the Poco launcher, according to the person who gave the fix for this issue, using a Third-Party launcher is recommended like Microsoft Launcher, Lawnchair 2 etc. We hope that the Poco takes some action soon as these types of issues can be very problematic for a lot of users.

  1. 1. Make sure that your device turns on and is at the MIUI screen.
    2. Once it is there, make sure that there is an active sim inside the device.
    3. If not, just insert an active sim inside of it and reboot the device.
    4. Make sure to give the device a call once it is in the MIUI screen and the device would be back.
    5. Once back, the launcher app may not work as expected. So pull down the status menu and click the gear icon on the top right of the screen to open Settings.
    6. Go to Apps > Manage Apps and search for “POCO Launcher”
    7. Click Clear Data and select Clear all data. This will only delete the POCO launcher cache files. (has nothing to do with your actual phone storage data).
    8. Check that the launcher works now or restart once to see it is fixed 🙂
