ASUS launches a wide range of affordable Chromebooks in India. The new line-up includes the Chromebook Flip C214, Chromebook C223, Chromebook C423 (touch and non-touch variants), and Chromebook C523 (touch and non-touch variants). They are powered by Intel Dual-core 64-bit processors and 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, the battery that the brand claims is up to 10-11 hours’ battery life for productivity and multitasking.

Commenting at the launch Dinesh Sharma, Business Head, Commercial PC, and Smartphone, System Business Group, ASUS in India said, “We are excited to introduce our ‘Thoughtfully Simple’ yet ‘Transformative’ ASUS Chromebook series, which is designed to ensure extremely intuitive and user-friendly computing experience for modern-day learners and modern-day cloud-focused enterprises.” He further added, “We will be also announcing a range of community support activities for ASUS Chromebook users and share a range of resources that will help consumers make use of their Chromebook Thoughtfully Simple.”

ASUS launches a wide range

As for the Chromebooks themselves, starting off we have the ASUS Chromebook C214 which is a ruggedized laptop convertible, designed specifically for the rigorous demands of educational users. The tough-built 11.6-inch ASUS Chromebook Flip C214 with its military-grade durability certification is constructed to withstand the everyday knocks, bumps, and rough handling commonly encountered in classrooms and homes.

It also features additional safety features such as a spill and tamper-resistant keyboard that’s rated for 10 million keystroke lifespans. The device is powered by an Intel dual-core processor and a 50Wh battery that can provide a backup of up to 11 hours and features 64GB of onboard storage that can be further upgraded up to 2TB using a MicroSD card.

The touch-screen display is also a versatile 360° hinge and world-facing camera on ASUS Chromebook Flip C214 and can be opened to 180° to lay flat on a desk for easy collaboration. The laptops include a full complement of smart productivity features, including all-school-day battery life, and a versatile selection of I/O ports. It gets an HD 720p camera and stereo loudspeakers, and also features a world-facing 5MP autofocus camera to capture pictures and videos to aid better learning.

As for the other laptops, there are the ASUS Chromebooks C223, C423 (touch and non-touch variants), and C523 (touch and non-touch variants). According to ASUS, they can last up to a full 10 hours on a full charge with the help of their long-life lithium-ion battery pack. There is an optional touch-screen on the C423 and C523 too and the Chromebook C423 and C523 can be opened to 180° to lay flat on a desk for easy collaboration.

The displays come with full-HD resolution; the ASUS Chromebooks offer clear colors for day-long computing. These devices too are powered by an Intel 64-bit dual-core processor that features 32GB of onboard storage on the C223 and 64GB on C423 and C523, which can be further upgraded up to 2TB using a MicroSD card.

As for the RAM, they get 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM allows users to experience seamless multi-tasking on Chrome apps, Android apps, and even Linux apps. All three ASUS Chromebooks (5 variants) feature superior video conferencing ability thanks to the HD camera as standard and stereo loudspeakers.

As for the pricing, the Chromebook Flip C214 is priced at ₹23,999, Chromebook C223 at ₹17,999, Chromebook C423 (Non-Touch) at ₹19,999, Chromebook C523 (Non-Touch) at ₹20,999 while the Chromebook C423 (Touch) is priced at ₹23,999 and the Chromebook C523 (Touch) comes at a price tag of ₹24,999.
