Redmi India has today announced their entry into the Smart TV category with the launch of the Redmi Smart TV X Series. With the launch, the company aims to deliver more immersive and impactful experiences to consumers. Also read, GoPro launches the new Quik app for iOS and Android devices
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Raghu Reddy, Chief Business Officer, Mi India said: “India today has 170 million households with television but less than 20million homes own Smart TVs. We launched our range of Mi TVs over 3 years ago and have been leading the Smart TV market for the past 10 consecutive quarters. Enhancing the at-home viewing experience, Mi TVs have played an important role in ushering a new era of Smart TVs in India, by providing an unparalleled lineup of options that deliver on engineering, technological prowess, and a large pool of content across genres.”
Moving onto the TVs themselves, Redmi Smart TV X Series comes in three different size variants which are 50’’, 55’’, and 65’’ inches. They come powered with Vivid Picture Engine, an image processing algorithm for color accuracy and a bright display. The TVs feature a 4K panel with a resolution of 3840 x 2160, with support for Dolby Vision and HDR 10+. For the sound, the Redmi TV X Series comes equipped with 30W stereo speakers with Dolby Audio and support for DTS Virtual:X. It also supports Dolby Atmos via HDMI eARC passthrough to external Atmos soundbars/AV receivers.
For the performance, they boasts a 64-bit quad-core A55 processor coupled with Mali G52 graphics coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. They would provide a jitter-free and seamless consumption of content. The software is Patchwall based on Android TV 10, which offers users easy access to content, and features such as Universal search, Kids Mode, Smart Recommendations, Live Sports, User Centre, and much more. It also offers support for Google Assistant and Chromecast built-in.
The connectivity options include HDMI 2.1 compatible ports with e-ARC support that acts as a great booster for bandwidth and audio speed. In addition to that, there are two USB and one optical port, and a 3.5 mm jack.
Now boils down the price of these new TVs by Redmi, the Redmi Smart TV X65 is priced at INR 57,999. While the Redmi Smart TV X55 is priced at INR 38,999, and the Redmi Smart TV X50 is priced at INR 32,999. Speaking of the availability, all the TVs will be available across Mi.com, Amazon.in, Mi Home and Mi Studio stores, starting 26th March, 12 noon, and they will soon be available across all the retail partners as well.
