We are in the middle of the OnePlus 8 series hype window and the leaks are pouring in from all sides. It has been made evidently clear by the brand that the new series will be all 5G and come at a hefty cost.
A date 14th April is doing rounds on the web as the possible launch date for the new series but now we have learnt from Yogesh that the launch could perhaps be postponed at least a week due to the ongoing Corona Virus outbreak. At the time of launch, OnePlus would just be bringing the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro with the slightly cheaper variant to soon follow.
Both the models are slated to go on sale in the first week of May according to the info with two color options. Apart from this, OnePlus will be setting up experience zones for their community in the metro cities, just like they have done for their past lineups.
Here’s what we know so far in terms of specifications
Both the phones will support 5G out of the box, 120Hz refresh rate display is also on the cards, a triple rear camera setup for the OnePlus 8 and a quad-camera setup on the OnePlus 8 Pro. As per the Tenaa listing, IN2010 is the number assigned to OnePlus 8 while IN2020 is for 8 Pro. The phones will sport curved displays just like the OnePlus 7 Pro and 7T Pro, but this time there will a punch-hole for the front camera rather than the mechanical pop-up camera.
Like with the past OnePlus phones, both the models will come powered by the all-new Snapdragon 865 SoC with LPDDR 5 RAM and UFS3 storage. OnePlus can go all in and get official ratings on both the smartphones further jacking up the price.
There is still close to a month for the launch, so expect more info to pour-in. We would be updating this post as soon as we receive relevant updates.
