OnePlus is gearing up for the company’s biggest launch event of the year 2019. The Chinese technology company is set to unveil the OnePlus 7T smartphone along with the company’s first-ever Smart TV- OnePlus TV at an event in New Delhi, India.
OnePlus 7T has already garnered a lot of interest from the masses. The smartphone has been making rounds on the internet for over a month now for its powerful hardware, 90Hz display and the new design complemented by a circular camera module.
OnePlus 7T is indeed a device to wait for. However, one smartphone has already stolen all the thunder from the company’s most advanced handset to date. If you have been following the technology news closely, you must know it already that we are talking about the newly launched Asus ROG Phone II.
Asus has stunned the market with the aggressive launch price of the Asus ROG phone II. The 8GB RAM variant of the ROG Phone II is priced at Rs. 37,999 and offers the most powerful specifications on an Android smartphone. Asus ROG Phone II flaunts a 120Hz AMOLED display and is powered by the speed-binned Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset.
Asus ROG Phone II also features improved Air triggers and several other game-centric features to deliver an unmatched gaming experience. If you further want to step up your gaming experience, you can separately purchase a slew of gaming accessories for a full-fledged console-level gaming experience.
Now if you compare the ROG Phone II specs with the upcoming OnePlus 7T, the smartphone will also work on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC paired with 8GB RAM. Unlike the 120Hz display on the ROG Phone II, OnePlus 7T will ship with a 90Hz AMOLED display. The battery capacity will have a huge difference. Asus ROG phone II is backed by a monstrous 6,000mAh battery cell, whereas the OnePlus 7T will likely offer a meagre 3,800mAh battery unit.
Moreover, Asus has also managed to give capable camera hardware this time. The new ROG phone II features 48MP dual-lens camera setup that seems surprisingly good. While we haven’t got a chance to test the camera performance of the upcoming OnePlus 7T, we know for the fact that OnePlus devices have always failed to match the likes of premium camera smartphones. In fact, photography is one department where OnePlus has never managed to impress.
To summarize, Asus ROG Phone II has clearly set new standards in the sub 40K price segment. The smartphone has managed to introduce best-in-class hardware that will be too damn difficult to beat, at least till the first quarter of the year 2020.
If OnePlus does not manage to come up with better pricing and some new tricks this time, the OnePlus 7T will be dead on arrival. Ideally, you can skip the OnePlus 7T and wait for the OnePlus 8. The next year’s OnePlus 8 will offer some exciting features that might be worth checking out.
So, do let us know your thoughts on the ASUS ROG Phone 2 and OnePlus 7T and who really gets the crown of the most powerful Android smartphone this year.
