Asus has announced its latest gaming smartphone, RoG Phone II to the global markets at IFA event in Berlin. The RoG Phone II was initially announced back in July in China. At the event, the company also unveiled a high-end version of the smartphone with new color design and upgrade specifications.
The Matte Black color gives the phone a unique personality, with the distinctive patterning emblazoned on the back cover adding emphasis. The hardware specification is upgraded to 1TB UFS 3.0 internal storage with faster Cat 20 4G LTE download speed of up to 2Gbps.

Asus RoG Phone II Features
The ROG phone II features a 6.59-inch FullHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 2160 pixels covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The display also supports 10-bit HDR content and comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1ms response rate, and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by the latest Snapdragon 855+ processor, clocking up to 2.96GHz and Adreno 640 GPU. It comes with up to 12GB RAMand up either 512GB or 1TB UFS 3.0 storage with no microSD card support. The phone is backed by a massive 6000mAH battery that supports 30W HyperCharge as well as the Qualcomm Quick Charge standards. Also, just like its predecessor, the phone features two USB Type-C port, one at the side with USB 3.1 Gen 1, fast charging (PD 3.0) and the other one at the bottom with USB 2.0 along with the presence of the 3.5mm headphone jack.
The ROG Phone II comes with an optional TwinView Dock for dual-screen handheld mode and the Mobile Desktop Dock for desktop-style gaming. The ROG Phone case accessory allows you to swap out the back cover to attach the AeroActive Cooler 2 without sacrificing drop protection. Other ROG Phone II feature include ASUS Aura RGB lighting and Aura Sync support. It is running on Android 9 Pie and comes with support for both RoG UI as well as the Stockish UI as seen on the Asus 6Z.
In the camera department, the gaming smartphone packs in the same optics as the Asus 6z, a 48MP(f/1.79)+13MP( 125° ultrawide) dual camera with primary 48MP being Sony IMX586 sensor, 1/2.0” sensor size, 0.8 µm pixel size, 1.6 µm pixel size, Laser autofocus, Dual LED flash, 4K UHD recording. The camera modes include Auto (with HDR+ Enhanced), Portrait, Panorama, Super Night(via OTA), Pro (RAW file support / up to 32 seconds long exposure), AI Scene Detection in 16 types, 8 filters.and there is a 24MP shooter at the front for selfies with f/2.0 aperture.
The ROG phone also features an in-fingerprint scanner. Asus has also packed in a cooling system with carbon cooling pads which will help sustain peak gaming performance. They also come with an AeroActive Cooler 2 which clips onto the back and blows air over the phone to keep it cool. It features stereo haptic engine which provides detailed force feedback during games. Other features of the gaming phone include Front-firing speakers with DTS: Ultra support, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, 2×2 MIMO, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.0, Game Lobby, Quad-mic noise cancellation, and NFC.
