Xiaomi’s Redmi has announced the successor to the Redmi Note 7 in China today. The new Redmi 8 comes with a Snapdragon 665 Processor, similar to the one featured on the Mi A3 Android One smartphone, 48MP Quad rear camera set-up, dew-drop notch style display, and much more.
The Redmi Note 8 comes with a 6.3-inch Full HD+ (2340*1080) LCD display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 90% screen-to-body ratio, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection as well as TUV Rheinland eye protection certification. Under the hood, The device is powered by an Octa-core Snapdragon 665 Processor clocked at 2GHz and there is Adreno 610 GPU for the graphics. It comes in three variants – 4+64GB, 6+64GB, and 6+128GB with microSD card support up to 256GB. It is packed with a Xiaomi Redmi Note series standard 4000mAH battery with 18W Quick Charge 4.0 support that is juiced up via a USB Type-C port.
Coming to the camera department, it comes with a Quad rear camera set-up – 48MP+8MP+2MP+2MP, the primary 48MP being a Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.79 aperture, 6P lens, EIS, PDAF, 4-in-1 pixel binning, an 8MP 120-degree wide-angle lens with 1.12μm lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens(2cms) with f/2.4 aperture. Over at the front, the Redmi Note 8 comes with a 13MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. The fingerprint scanner is embedded in the camera model at the rear. Other features of the device include IR Blaster, improved speaker, Dual SIM, and 3.5mm headphone jack.
