As reported earlier, Oppo has announced a new selfie-centric smartphone in India today. The newly launched Oppo F5 comes with 20 Megapixel front camera with Artificial Intelligence(AI) to capture better selfies, it can also scan 200 facial recognition spots to beautify a selfie shot and also offers bokeh effect. The front camera will also have face unlock feature to unlock the phone.
The Oppo F5 will come with a 6-inch(2160 × 1080 pixels) full-screen FHD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio, and corning gorilla glass protection. This is also Oppo’s first full-screen 18:9 display smartphone. It is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P23 16nm processor clocked at 2.5GHz and is coupled with Mali G71 MP2 GPU. It comes in either 4GB or 6GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB internal storage respectively, which can be further expandable memory up to 256GB with a microSD card. The device is running on ColorOS 3.2 on top of Android 7.1 and is packed with a 3200mAh built-in battery.
On the camera front, the device comes with a 16MP rear camera with LED flash, f/1.8 aperture and a 20MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1/2.8″ sensor, bokeh effect. The fingerprint scanner is located at the rear of the device. Other features of the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack.
OPPO also announced a new brand ambassador, Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra in addition to Deepika Padukone. Sidharth and Renowned Photographer – Rohan Shrestha shared their own selfie experience with OPPO F5 during the event.
Pricing and availability
The OPPO F5 is priced at INR 19,990 for the 4GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. It will be available from November 9th. You can pre-order the device now on Flipkart(until November 8th), it comes in Black and Gold and. The 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant is priced at INR 24,999 and will be available starting from December 2nd in Black and Red colors.
