Airtel

Airtel plans to go head to head with other telecom partners with aggressive data pricing. Furthermore, it is also the second in the telecom industry to roll out 4G VoLTE after Reliance Jio.

Airtel has been one of the top players in the telecom industry. Recently, there have been more ads than ever with their latest offerings in calls, data, phone protection, etc. The ads are a clear indication that Airtel is unto something big and this is just the start. Competition is a good thing and the brand is competing well launching out a host of features and offers. Quite lately, Airtel announced a grandiose range of data plans, starting from Rs. 8 till Rs. 399 for its prepaid users.

Now it plans to offer free 60GB 4G data for existing users. Well, there is a catch, not a big one though. Unfortunately, this offer is solely for existing postpaid users and not for prepaid users. Hard luck, prepaid users!

If you are an existing Airtel postpaid user and interested in grabbing the free 60 GB 4G data, all you need to do is download the ‘MyAirtel’ app from the App Store for iOs users and from the Google Play store for Android users. After downloading the app, the only task is to download the Airtel TV APK file on your smartphone. On opening the Airtel TV app, the user will see a new banner on the screen, which would say claim free data. Select the banner and follow the on-screen instructions. In doing so, the free data will be transferred into the account in the next 24 hours. The offer will break down for a period of six months giving you free 10 GB 4G data every month that will be automatically transferred by Airtel to your postpaid account.  In short, free 4G data of 10 GB per month and 60 GB 4G for six months. This is a promotional offer, which replaces the Airtel Monsoon offer that offered 10GB free data only for the postpaid customers for a tenure of three months.  There is no timeline to when the offer will end. Until that time, enjoy the freebies.

Airtel is also strengthening its footprint in the telecom segment, after being the second in the telecom industry to launch 4G VoLTE in Mumbai. The first company to do so was Reliance Jio.

To recall, 4G VoLTE (Voice over LTE) is a feature that allows customers to experience HD (high-definition) quality calls with crystal clear voice and without any interruptions. If you have a 4G compatible smartphone then you have nothing to worry about. The next software update on your phone should get the 4G VoLTE services running on your device only for those who have an Airtel connection.
