Smartphone SoC maker Qualcomm has announced its latest processor for the mid-range smartphones in Snapdragon 600 series, the Snapdragon 630 and Snapdragon 660. Snapdragon 630 will be coupled with Adreno 508 GPU and Snapdragon will be coming with Adreno 512 GPU. Both the SoC are made out of 14nm FinFET process technology. The Snapdragon 660 comes with Kryo CPU that is 20% better performance compared to Snapdragon 653. Adreno 512 GPU is 30% better performance compared to Adreno 510 and the new Adreno 508 GPU on the Snapdragon 630 offers 30% better performance compared to 506.

Both the processors have X12 LTE modem that provides download speeds up to 600 Mbps and peak upload speeds up to 150 Mbps, they come with Spectra 160 architecture and Hexagon DSP. These SoC provide 4K video support and playback. Also, up to 8GB maximum RAM is supported and Vulkan API support for better graphics. Both of them come with Bluetooth 5.0 Support. And, these also come with Dual rear camera support up to 16MP and 2K display support.

OEMs and developers can also power immersive and engaging user experiences with machine learning on the Snapdragon 660 and 630 Mobile Platforms using the Snapdragon Neural Processing Engine SDK. Both platforms support Qualcomm Mobile Security, which provides security focused hardware-based protection, user authentication and device attestation on the mobile device.
