Micromax announced 2 new budget smartphones in the new Evok series, the Evok Power, and Evok Note. They come with a huge 4000mAh battery and a fingerprint scanner. The Evok Power comes with a 5-inch HD display and the Evok Note comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display. Both of them run on Android Marshmallow 6.0, supports 4G VoLTE and a 5MP front facing camera.

Coolpad Cool 1 was launched with a 4GB variant last year, this week the company launched a new variant that comes with 3GB RAM. This variant also comes with 32GB storage with no sd card support. It is priced at INR 10,999 and will be available on amazon. It comes with a Dual 13-megapixel rear camera making it the only smartphone with the dual camera in the budget segment and its massive 4000mAh battery.

Flipkart Acquires eBay India

This is one of the biggest news in the startup world this week, Flipkart acquired eBay India and also received $1.4 billion funding from Chinese giant Tencent, eBay, and Microsoft in the latest funding round. Flipkart is now be valued at of $11.6 billion. Back in 2014, Flipkart acquired Myntra, later on in 2016 they acquired Jabong and UPI-based payment app PhonePe. This is the biggest investment in Flipkart’s 10-year history, said the company.

This is India’s first hybrid STB, powered by Android TV, which brings online content to the TV screen along with 500 plus satellite TV channels. It comes preloaded with Netflix, YouTube, Google Play Music, Google Play Games, Airtel Movies and more. It also comes with access to Google Play Store that allows users to download their favorite apps, content, and games onto their TV. The Airtel Internet TV is priced at INR 4999 with 3-month Digital TV subscription. Also, as limited period offer customers can pay INR 7999 and get the Airtel Internet TV with a one-year subscription.

Google Areo: Food Delivery And Home Service App

This came in really as a surprise, Google announced a new app to Indian users, available in 2 Indian cities(Bengaluru and Mumbai).  The new Areo app lets you order food to your current location. Users can also access services like Beauty, Home Maintenance, Fitness and much more. Google has partnered with Freshmenu, Box8, and Faasos for food ordering services. Its users will also be able to schedule appointments with local beauticians, plumbers, electricians and many other services as well which are currently happening via UrbanClap. Read more…
