Indian Smartphone company backed by Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is all set to launch their second smartphone, which will be the successor to last year’s Smartron t.phone. The company has sent an invite for an event in New Delhi to be held on 3rd of may, 2017.

As you can see from the invite, the new smartphone most probably will be called as Smartron srt.phone(srt referring to Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar). In case you didn’t know Sachin Tendulkar is a strategic shareholder of the company. There are no rumors or leaks of the smartphone yet. Last year, Smartron announced a smartphone called t.phone and an Ultrabook convertible, t.book. The smartphone was priced at INR 24,999 and t.book was priced at INR 39,999. Recently, the company announced their association with Krishna Yarlagadda as an investor and strategic advisor.  As a strategic advisor, Krishna will mentor the Chairman and the Board of the company in building Smartron into a global brand. In Feb 2017, Smartron had announced that it will invest in Volta Motors, a Chennai-based automotive start-up company that is designing and developing sustainable electric vehicles for India and the global market.

It will be interesting to see what the company will offer on May 3rd apart from the smartphone. Stay tuned for news and updates.
