Yatra.com is now making it easier to search and find flight related information on its Android and iOS mobile application. In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Yatra has introduced Voice Search to simplify the user experience while booking domestic and international flights. With smartphone prices crashing and penetration increasing rapidly, the Indian traveler of today is very comfortable making flight bookings via their mobile and the Voice Search feature will go a long way in making the experience a very easy and seamless one.
The new Voice Search is extremely simple to use. One can simply tap on the microphone icon appearing at the top right on your mobile phone and speak out the travel details.
Example: ‘I want a flight from Delhi to Mumbai for two adults next Tuesday’.
The flight results with all the options will appear instantly. Voice Search is particularly useful for long queries that would otherwise require plenty of details to be typed in, such as number of travelers, number of adults or children. One can search for ‘flight from Delhi to Sydney for two adults on Christmas’ and instantly get all the available flight options for two adults from Delhi to Sydney on 25th December.
Commenting on the development, Sharat Dhall, COO (B2C), Yatra.com says, “Over the last 18 months, we have seen a significant increase in searches and bookings via mobiles and hence the introduction of a feature like Voice Search to make it easier for the mobile user to search and book flights. We think it will play a transformational role in the way flight bookings are made. Voice searches on search engines are already over 20% of all mobile searches and continue to grow every day. At Yatra, we have always been at the forefront of technology innovation in the online travel space and the addition of Voice Search is in line with our endeavor to improve user experience and create happy travellers. We think that this will become an integral part of the travel booking experience in the future.”
