San Francisco based startup Robin had a very successful kickstarter campaign in 2015 and the smartphone launched in India this May. The latest colour variant of the Nextbit Robin ‘Ember‘ was launched in other markets like US has finally made its way to India.
The smartphone comes at a price tag of INR 19,999 and offers same specs as it’s other variants with just the change in the colour. For the price it offers the following specs.

- Hexa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor
- 3GB RAM
- 32GB storage/ 100 GB cloud storage
- Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow
- 13MP rear camera with PDAF and dual-tone flash
- 2,680 mAh battery with quick charging
- 5MP front facing camera
- USB Port-C port
- 7mm thin
- 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC
The device is available on Flipkart with other 2 color option Mint and MidNight. The device is rated 4 out of 5 in Flipkart. The unique feature of the Robin is it’s Cloud storage (along with 32GB internal). Nextbit Robin’s software is clever enough to figure out the apps not being used recently and automatically shift them to the cloud storage space. This implies that you don’t need to delete things when your phone runs out of space because your phone has already done it all by itself. The apps which are in Cloud will appear in grey color, when you press on them they will be downloaded from cloud with all your app data. You can also pin some apps which you don’t want to send to Cloud.
With Jio Preview offers out for most of the smartphones in India officially we guess now it would make sense for some users to get the Robin. What is your take on this? Let us know by dropping a comment below.
