Maruti Suzuki launches Ciaz SHVS it’s first hybrid offering for the Indian market. Till now, Hybrid cars were only related to premium models that came with a hefty price tag. But with the launch of the Ciaz SHVS, Maruti Suzuki has changed the game. Instead of just calling it hybrid, Maruti Suzuki has termed it has SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki). The SHVS technology has features such as Idle Engine Start/Stop, Power Assist, and Brake Energy Regeneration.

Till date Maruti Suzuki has been in the forefront of automobile technology for the masses. And now with them supporting the Government of India’s FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) programme, it just matter of time when the adoption of hybrid and electric vehicles surges.
We were at the launch of Ciaz and took a note that SHVS maintains all the other features that make the standard Ciaz. And with a price range starting from Rs 8.23 lakh for the base VDi model, going on to Rs 10.17 lakh for the ZDI+ variant, Maruti has smartly priced the hybrid sedan even cheaper than the standard Ciaz. Now that’s lucrative offer for anyone who has 8-11 lacs to spend.
Variant | Price (ex-showroom, New Delhi) |
VDi | Rs 8,23,000 |
