YU has announced the roll-out of the Android 5.0 Lollipop-based Cyanogen OS 12 (CM12S) update on YUREKA. YU is committed to delivering a robust, customizable and seamless OS capability for its users. The teams at YU and Cyanogen have endeavored together to bring that commitment alive through the L update. Starting today, the update will be rolled out in phases to Yureka consumers over the course of next 3 days.

With great attention to detail and material design elements of visual, motion and interaction design, the L update is a major design overhaul. The update has not only simplified the touch and feel of the UI with basic colors and flat design but through enhanced animation added more depth to the interface making it more dynamic. Allowing the consumers to enjoy a personalized OS, the update lets them prioritize application notifications. The notification now better integrated with the lock screen are smarter, more intuitive and less intrusive.
The update is packed with exciting new features and design options to upgrade the YUREKA experience. Cyanogen OS 12 is enriched with extra theming features, down to the granular ability to theme individual apps using the new feature called App Themer. Taking the individuality driven customization to the next level, the update allows the YUREKA users to turn their OS into their own personal canvas.
The L update also marks the debut the new Cyanogen email, powered by Boxer. The premium version of Boxer comes free to all Cyanogen OS users. Cyanogen email adds Exchange support, multiple account integration, and canned responses for quick replies to the OS. Boxer has also included great customization bells and whistles that lets the consumers select a different LED color for email notifications, and choose what happens when they swipe left or right on a message.
The L update from Cyanogen also ensures improved privacy on the smartphone. With Cyanogen OS 12, YUREKA consumers can create guest profiles to effectively control the usage and sharing of information on their device. In addition to the users can now freeze app screens for restricted user actions to disable unwanted navigation on their device. The update also comes with the freedom and ease of communicating in the native language as with keyboard support for addition of Indian languages: Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu.
YUREKA is the first device from YU to be launched with Cyanogen OS and get exclusive OTA firmware updates and support in India.
