Apart from announcing the price and availability of flagship phone HTC One M8 in India, HTC also announced entry level dual SIM smartphone HTC Desire 210 and the mid ranger HTC Desire 816. The HTC Desire 201 has been priced at Rs. 8, 700 and will compete with budget Androids in India.
The Display is 4 inches in size and bears usable WVGA 800 x 480 pixel resolution. The Dual SIM HTC Desire 210 weighs a moderate 130 grams and houses a 1300 mAh battery in its 10.5 mm thick body casing.
Desire 210 is powered by a 1 GHz Dual Core MT6572M paired with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage. MicroSD support is also present up to 32 GB. On the software front, HTC is providing Android 4.2 jelly bean with Sense UI on top with support for Blink feed.
Imaging hardware includes a 5 MP camera at the rear and a VGA front camera for basic video calling. Connectivity features include 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX and GPS.
The phone is a younger sibling of HTC Desire 310 launched last month and another attempt by HTC to establish itself in high density budget Android segment. With domestic manufacturers offering quad core MediaTek smartphones under 10k mark, HTC will bank upon its brand value to gain an edge over the competition. HTC Desire 210 will be available for purchase starting from 2 nd, May 2014.
