Eddy, India’s first Android-based learning tablet for kids, was launched by Metis Learning.  Targeted at children aged 2-10 years, Eddy comes with educator-selected learning content, a kid-safe environment and high quality hardware catering to their learning and development needs. The revolutionary tablet is priced at an introductory price of Rs. 9,999 and is exclusively available on eddytablet.com and amazon.in. The only tablet to map school curriculum to games, Eddy is designed by a team with a combined experience of 100+ years. Eddy is based on the latest research on using technology in education which has been scientifically proven to foster creativity, accelerate learning and boost intelligence in kids.

Eddy is set to usher a new paradigm for early year’s education in India with its concept of game-based learning. The power packed tablet comes equipped with over 150 high-quality learning games, linked to school curriculum and covering key learning areas including language, math, our world and creativity. Children can read books, learn to play the piano, explore the world and the universe as well as practice math through games on Eddy. The team of seasoned educators and experts behind Eddy has ensured that only games which are highly engaging, violence-free and enjoyable for children are selected. Parents also have access to over 50,000 educational apps on Google Play store. Eddy also comes with an exclusive recommendation engine for parents, the Kids Radar, which recommends the most suitable learning apps for their kids on the Play store.

Designed to be a child’s first gadget, it comes with strong features to address the safety and security concerns of parents. The tablet’s proprietary technology allows kids to play in a safe zone, with access to only those apps which are suitable for them. It has a kid-safe browser, which only permits access to reliable websites. Not only can parents set time limits for their children to play on Eddy, they can decide which subjects their children should focus on. In addition, they get detailed reports on what their child is actually doing on the tablet. Parents can create up to three child profiles on Eddy to ensure that each child gets relevant content as per their needs.

Commenting on Eddy’s launch, Bharat Gulia, CEO, Metis Learning said “There is no denying the fact that today’s 21st century child lives in a world of technology. However, parents are frustrated with the current technology options available and the negative influences of technology. Eddy introduces the concept of responsible technology, ensuring a safe and controlled technology experience for children with a strong focus on learning.”

Eddy has been designed by educators, who have done extensive research in the area of digital learning and child brain development. Radhika Suri, a leading educator with over 20 years of teaching experience, said, “Children can learn rapidly through digital games because they are so engaged and involved in them. However, selecting the right games is critical – they need to be engaging, have high educational value and also be developmentally appropriate. Eddy’s strong curriculum and game selection criteria, combined with its unique technology that ensures children get access to only developmentally appropriate games, as per their age, makes it the most advanced tablet based learning solution for children today.”

Eddy comes with a 1024 X 600 IPS screen, which ensures vastly superior images. It has a 0.3 MP front camera and a 2MP back camera. A 3200 mAH battery ensures more than 4 hours of continuous usage time on full charge. Eddy’s 1.6 GhZ dual core processor and 1 GB RAM provides excellent performance. Its 8 GB internal storage ensures easy download of 100’s of new games onto it.  This new age tablet is sturdily built and comes with a food grade, shock absorbing cover, to reduce the possibility of damage.

  1. Deciding the right educational tablet for your kids is exhausting. This review has helped me a lot to get better details on Metis Learning. I’m also taking the option of Vinci Genius which I’ve received a lot of recommendations.
