We have been witnessing quite a few leaks of the Sony attachable lens system. Well today at the IFA 2013, Sony revealed two new camera standalone/add-on that attach to your smartphone for taking mindblowing pictures.

The two “smart lenses”, DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100 look like lenses but are standalone cameras with high resolution sensors (18.2MP Exmor R CMOS for the QX10 and 20.2 1.0-type Exmor R CMOS for the QX100).

These cameras connect to the smartphone through Wi-Fi or NFC and allows the user to take higher-resolution images and video with a variety of extra features like optical zoom and SteadyShot image stabilisation.

The QX10 (F1.8 wide angle aperture) and QX100 (F3.3 wide angle) use a Sony G Lens and a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lens.

Both the lenses are equipped with single-shot AF with contrast detection and use Memory Stick to save photos – and they can also be transferred or uploaded using Wi-Fi.

We’ve can’t wait to get our hands on these lenses. Don’t know how many of you remember but these lenses remind us of the old Sony Ericsson Communicam that used to come as an accessory/attachment with SE T68i.
