Netplus, a broadband service provider will deploy Nokia’s Gigabit Passive Optical Networking (GPON) technology in India to meet the growing demand for more capacity, faster speeds and superior quality of broadband services. Nokia’s GPON technology will be rolled out across the country with initial deployments starting in the states of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. The upgraded network will allow Netplus subscribers to get the new ultra-broadband services.
Nokia’s solution allows easy integration with the existing network enabling Netplus to expand and grow their network without changing the gear. The solution, based on Nokia’s mini-OLT and ISAM DF products, facilitates flexible deployments deep in the network, eliminating the need for a central office while driving cost efficiencies. This network upgrading process will allow Netplus to provide world-class high-speed internet along with a host of new services including IPTV.
